Join us on a big news day tomorrow morning as we discuss the 5-3 decision from the Supreme Court on an abortion case that has tremors from the horrific Gosnell cases. We’ll hear from Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick who was outraged by the court’s decision as well as other pro-life leaders including Jeanne Mancini of March For Life, Penny Nance of Concerned Women for America, and the entire board of Priests For Life!
Guests include Maureen Ferguson of The Catholic Association discussing the big Supreme Court decision and where the HHS mandate stands in terms of letting the Little Sisters of the Poor Serve. Maureen released a statement on the Supreme Court’s ruling today saying, “This case was about sensible laws designed to protect women in the wake of the Gosnell horrors; it should have been common ground for both sides of the issue. It’s a stunning disappointment that even protecting women through laws enacted by the American people’s elected representatives, laws designed off of safety protections that Planned Parenthood implements in its own clinics, are considered out of bounds by the Supreme Court. Pro-lifers have had more than 40 years of disappointment at the Supreme Court, but it hasn’t slowed us down. This ruling won’t stop us from continuing to work to protect all American lives, and we won’t stop until we’ve won.”
We’ll also discuss the big meeting Trump had with pro-life leaders last week in New York with Dr. Alveda King of Priests For Life. She was in attendance and was pleasantly surprised by the GOP’s presumptive nominee’s commitment to the pro-life movement, promising to elect all pro-life judges to the Supreme Court.
We’ll also reflect on the historical make-up of Catholicism in America with Russell Shaw, discussing his new book out now on Ignatius Press: Catholics in America:Religious Identity and Cultural Assimilation from John Carroll to Flannery O’Connor.
