  1. I absolutely love Morning Glory!! The format is informative, inspirational, and entertaining. I have been a big fan of Brian Patrick since his time on the Sun Rise Morning Show. It is great to have him back on in the A.M. But I must say that I am quickly becoming a huge Gloria Purvis fan. She makes me laugh!! Besides that, I can really relate with her, and appreciation her perspective. After spending my hour commute with you all I feel full of the Holy Spirit and ready to start my day. Keep up the good work!!

  2. I heard the comment on your show that there are no good TV shows anymore. Perhaps, you have not seen Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart. It is a family oriented, Christian & heartwarming story of a young school teacher from a wealthy family who crosses the Canadian frontier to teach in a small mining community that experienced a devastating tragedy – a mine explosion that killed 1/2 of the fathers. I am able to watch it with small children, my spouse & grown children & not be embarrassed.

One of its producers is Michael Landon, Jr….similar format to Little House on the Praire. Something else has happened. The executive producers, to include Brian Bird (writer for the recently released Captive movie),actors & cast interact wth the fans (we call ourselves Hearties). Something even more special? We pray for each other, comfort each other & share the joyful moments. May I suggest starting with Season 1.

    • Thanks for posting about this series. My kids, hubby and I enjoyed Little House in the Prairie. But by the time my girls were entering teenage years we had already watched all the episodes. And we didn’t know of any program alike. So for our movie evening we would watch some Father Knows Best and/or The Munsters. These are all classical and “innocent” family movies . Something nonexistent nowdays. But I think this series you mentioned may be our new evening sittings.

    • I couldn’t agree more- it’s the only show besides the cooking shows that I feel My daughter and I can enjoy, and I don’t worry about what the content might be. It is wholesome and good. Wish there were more shows like it.

  3. Good Morning overall I like your radio show but I was disappointed to hear a bit of mockery in the voices on Trump this morning 1/12 (I myself am not sold on any of the Republican candidates) … Trump is against abortion which is the greatest issue and I believe the # one destruction of mankind. I don’t feel I hear that from you, this same tone of voices on the other Republican candidates, and I have heard this tone in your voice before on Trump. Brian, I recall watching an interview on your TV show on EWTN with a rep from the organization called “Catholics for Obama” . When I watched that interview I was very disappointed to see how this Rep from this organization took control of the interview. How can any Catholic be on an EWTN show defending Obama who does not defend the life of the unborn, and I felt you let his agenda shine brightly on this interview, which this was your show and you should have owned the interview, but you did not.

  6. Ewtn seems to becoming more and more anti-Trump. He’s the only candidate who has said more than once that he’s not going to let people die in the street in reference to the health care issue. Isn’t that a position consistent with the year of Mercy? Your guest this morning did not make a convincing case against DT. Do we really think there has never been a US President who hasn’t used off color language while IN the White House?

  12. We had a listener call in this morning at Redeemer Radio to complain about a comment made at 8:42am this morning on the program. Gloria mention the word “suck” and the comment “even in her sucking” in her comments. Our listener was very offended at the word choice used by the commentator.

  14. In my opinion the USCCB has created this “Catholic’s for Choice” organization by refusing to publicly excommunicate public officials like Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Tim Kaine, and Andrew Cuomo who openly lie about the teaching of the Church on life and marriage. St. Paul in Corinthians 5 makes it absolutely clear that it is required of the Church to identify and exclude those who publicly scandalize the Church. By continuing to communicate with the idolators, the abortion industry and homosexual marriage lobby, we do them no favors and bring confusion to the “little ones.” It is REQUIRED that the Bishops exclude the leaders of this Organization for their own sake as well as the sake of the Catholic community as a whole. Not to do so is a the same as an endorsement of their claims. You allow them to win when they have “barrels of ink” to make their claim with a complicit media while we peep in the dark. Excommunication is a message that will ring in every ear. The USCCB needs to forget the dollars and cents and focus on the souls of their flock. A smaller faithful Church is better than a larger scandalized one.

  15. Hey Coach,
I have been participating in the Crossing the Goal for a couple of months but during our last meeting I brought up how upset I am over the NCAA ruling on North Carolina. I am wondering how do we energize men to not watch the games and let the NCAA and ACC know?

Also I love the show it keeps me grounded every morning!

  17. I fell in love with this show pretty quickly and I was so thankful to find a Catholic morning radio program. I joined them on Twitter, and even helped promote the show among my family and friends. However, in short order, I started to hear Gloria Purvis’s anti police rhetoric and soon realized that with her, issues of race trump Christian Charity. She never misses an opportunity to denigrate a profession that I have dedicated over half my life to in service to my fellow citizens-both on the show and social media. It’s heart breaking, really. My family, friends and I are sick of it and will be listening no more. I will pray that she will be able to let go of her anger.

  20. I have just turned off your station since this is the second time I have heard the host put an opinion on the show that’s disturbing. She referenced her opinion last week on Trump with his statement saying black people. She said she didn’t like the his term black people. Now she stated how is the police officer going to explain how he shot the guy in the back ( NC ). Seems to me she needs to go join black lives matter! If she’s not there already.

I just have one suggestion and it is meant with all due respect and love for this show. Can the Gloria be prayed just a little slower, I can’t keep up and get winded saying it so fast and get mixed up because of the speed. That’s all. Thank you for bringing goodness to the airways!

  27. I listen to your show every morning on the way to work, and I enjoy much of the commentary and sacramental insightfulness. This morning, although, Gloria made a judgmental comment concerning a man who wanted to end his suffering due to his father’s passing (I believe this was the scenario). She stated, “That’s the wrong attitude!” Well, yes, it what we Catholics are taught is a sin, the taking of one’s own life, but judgement is His, not the immortal man. Instead of criticism, extend hope, knowledgeable, reasoning, and above all, LOVE! As a wonderful sister has advised me, there are many in this world who have not experienced love and support during trials, so they view life as unworthy. We, as Catholics and witnesses, must guide, empathize, and love those who have not received Faith. Please, I kindly ask if you, demonstrate empathy and understanding toward those who are enveloped in darkness and help them to see the light of the Lord and all of His unrelenting mercy, as we have not walked in this young man’s place. Our experiences, possibly, do not compare and so, we are unable to relate. Glory to God 🙌🏼

  29. I was very disappointed in your coverage of the incident where a man was dragged from a United Airlines flight. It was very biased and made judgements that were not supported by facts. It is possible, if not likely, that United Airlines was transporting crew to another airport so that they could operate a future scheduled flight. In those crew members could not be transported to Louisville, it is quite possible that a large number of their customers would be affected by a cancelled flight. The airline owns the airplane, not the passengers, and this person was trespassing for not leaving when asked. He was entitled to compensation, as per the contract for carriage, but had no right to refuse to leave his seat when demanded by the owner of the airplane. Please refrain from commenting until you know all the facts, instead of guessing out of ignorance.

  31. I was surprised to hear you support this morning the move by the Trump Administration to eliminate fresh fruits and vegetables and whole wheat products from school lunches – and also your disparaging of Bill Nye. I am a life long Catholic and a nutritionist (yes, nutrition is a science and I know many Catholics who support science) – and do not understand why on earth you would support teaching our children to eat junk. Yes, it may be thrown away, but not by all children and so will be the empty calories they will serve in their place. The problem is not in the serving of fresh produce, it’s in the preparation of it! How does this fit into Catholic doctrine? I believe Christ would want us to care for and treat our God given bodies with care and respect. Nutrition is part of that respect. Science is not ideas, they are laws – and one can have open eyes to the truth of science and practice in Christ.

  33. “Who will guard the guardians?”

This is the great question asked about the political structure imaged by Plato. The same comment is relevant in the recent police murder. I share Gloria’s concerns here: how can we protect ourselves against policemen who become irrationally panicked? In this instance, the man was following proper procedure—is there some way to assess whether some police officer candidates are more prone to getting freaked out. . . and shooting?

  34. I really enjoy your show on my drive to work. Some times I find we need to try and understand why people or governments take certain positions. A thought….We want the government to step in and stop mothers of unwanted pregnancy from killing the baby in their womb, to protect the child, who has a right to live. Sometimes the government has to step in and take custody away from neglectful parents of children, in cases where they are being harmed. Based on that premise, is it possible that the British government was trying to protect the life of baby Charlie, not allowing him to travel. Perhaps the medical community determined that flying to the US would pose a grave danger to his life. Just a thought

  36. This morning Gloria Purvis made the naive comment that bishops are not getting rich from illegal immigrants because poor people don’t have any money. The truth of the matter is that the Catholic Charities USA and Catholic Relief Services get most of their funding from the federal government which amounts to more than a billion dollars a year. No mention is made by the bishops lauding President Trump’s move to reduce to zero the billions of taxpayer dollars annually which funded worldwide abortions by the Obama administration. Hmm. No wonder the Pew Trust has reported and Timothy Cardinal Dolan has confirmed that 30 million Catholics have left the Church!

To say that Viagra should never be covered would be the equivalent of saying that a woman after breast cancer should not be offered breast reconstruction because the breast is no longer needed as it is not functional for breastfeeding.

I am a nurse and worked every other weekend for the past 40 years. When I married 4 years ago, my husband (who had no exposure to “medical people”) did not like it. I tried to explain that I was taking care of God’s little children who were ill. As he put it, “you are missing Mass for half the year!”

    What do you say?

Thank you for the tremendous contribution all of you make to evangelizing!
